Strong Defense and Balanced Scoring Leads Shenendehowa Girls Lax Over Averill Park

The Lady Plainsmen got off to a solid start to the 2018 Suburban Council Season by notching a solid win over the Averill Park Warriors 14-4 on a cold and blustery night at Brent T. Steuerwald Stadium in Clifton Park.

With solid defense and a balance scoring attack where 8 Shen players notched goals and assists, the Shen Girls beat the Warriors who came into the game 0-3 with losses to Shaker, Saratoga, and Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Sydney Fess dominated the Face-Off Circle which helped Shen get the offense set to set up the balanced scoring attack from numerous players including:

McKenzie Ballard – 4 goals and 2 assists
Abby Danson – 2 assists
Emily Dinallo – 2 goals
Jenna Graf – 2 goals
Kara Gray – 3 goals and 1 assist
Katie Green – 1 goal
Grace Paliwodzinski – 1 goal and 1 assist
Julia Shanahan – 1 goal

The Shen goalies, Aislinn Sweeney and Erin Robbins each recorded 2 saves each.

Shen travels to Guilderland (2-0) to take on the 2017 Suburban Council Champs this coming Thursday April 12 at 4:15.
